Jim and Pam by KingVahagn Jim and Pam by KingVahagn
Portrait of Jim Morrison and Pamela Corsen. This was done for a friend. I am going to give him this one for free but if I do more I am going to start charging him. These portraits just take too long to give away for free. Expect more portraits of him later on. He may be harder to recognize in this pic because his beard and mustache are pretty long.

As for the reference pic, I must say it was pretty bad. Really blurry and I couldn't get all the details that I desired. So I am not that satisfied with it.

I love it.  You capture a mood of sweetness radiating from each person and between them.

Thank you very much. The friend I gave it to was happier with it than I was. So that was a pleasant surprise

It's just pretty much pencils with various intensities. I believe it was b9, b6 and b2. For the lighter parts I used an hb pencil.

In some areas I did it with pen you add some defining points

Going to do it? Why not do it still? It is a pretty good pic to draw, but I hope you manage to find a better version of it than I did. I couldn't even see the details because it was so blurry and bad quality

Oh well, I will make up for it by doing my best on a different pic

Looks very good, I especially like the soft pencil touch you've on Pam's face. Shading is very good too. If there is something to criticize, then it's Jim's beard that looks a bit like a unified object, but hair is always difficult. Good pencil technique.

Yeah I know what you mean about the beard. I just wish I had a better picture to draw off of. In the pic it was pretty much mixed in with all the shadows and it looked all black. I tried to seperate it somehow but didn't do a very good job.

Thanks very much for the comment + critique

I really like the feeling/tone/expression of this drawing. very well done, although one eye is darker than the other and HIS left eye seems drawn upwards atthe outter corner a bit too much but you say the original was blurry so i give you props for having something this good come of it :)

THank you :D

I hope to get a better pic of it up later on... Now that I look at the one that I have uploaded in the real thing, the quality difference is so apparent. I either need a better camera or I just need to retake the pic in some natural lighting or something.

Oh well, I'll make sure to update it later on

Ugh, yeah, I know the feeling...

Most of my traditional stuff is extremely screwed up to do photo quality...

Btw, I wish I would give better comments on these, but I just don't know enough about portraiture.
